What's DANGO method?




The DANGO method is one of seveal ways of the black sea bream fishing. And this method is popular among Japanese anglers recently very well.

It is a way with balled ground bait including a hook bait, and throwing it at a swim.
DANGO means balled ground bait. Its duties are to prevent a hook bait from little fish(unwanted fish)attacks, to carry it toward the bottom certainly, and to attract black sea breams.

There are several main ingredients of DANGO ( ground bait ), such as rice bran, red clay, bean curd refuse, or commercial ground bait mix.

However, the most traditional and the most right style is a way of using rice bran, that is called as Kisyu-tsuri.(refer to below)

Glossary

Kisyu-tsuri;
Kisyu-tsuri is one of a traditional fishing method using rice bran and sand, that aims to catch Black sea breams in Japan. That came out in Edo-era (apprprox.400 years ago) at province of Kisyu , and has been going there until now.

So Kisyu means geographic name, and tsuri means fishing.
